Spy cameras are legal in Singapore for personal security use on your own property, such as home monitoring and domestic helper supervision. However, voyeurism is a criminal offence under Section 377BB of the Penal Code, and Section 377BC covers distribution of voyeuristic recordings. The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) governs the collection and handling of personal data including CCTV footage — if your cameras capture common areas or neighbouring units, you must comply with PDPA guidelines from the PDPC.
